Anne C. Jacob
The idea for the name of my editing business came to me when my husband was doing a book signing at a pirate festival. The booth next to us was a parrot rescue organization.
Popin is short for popinjay, an archaic word for a parrot. In the 17th century, it became a word meaning a fancy, ornate, or outlandishly dressed person.
While researching editing logos, I noticed several included a feather pen. However, pens don’t talk or communicate like parrots do. With Popin Edits, you don’t just get red ink on your manuscript, you get communication, phone calls, emails, and texts. You get to keep your voice in your book. You get the whole bird.
